Season's Greetings

From all your friendly neighbourhood Compass elves, we want to wish everyone a joyful, restful, and chocolate-filled Christmas and a new year teeming with exciting possibilites. And don't forget to mark your new 2007 "Famous Cheeses of the World" calendars and save a little festive energy for our first annual "Heroes Journey Redux:The Homecoming" Compass Alumni Reunion (working title) scheduled for the evening of Thursday, January 25th (details to follow).

Best of the season, all, and many thanks for helping make 2006 a terrific one!

Some last-minute gift ideas...?

...for those who listed "a brand spanking new job" on your list to Santa this year:

1. Senior Communications Manager for Parks Canada.
2. Program Facilitator and Program Manager (2 positions) for the YMCA.
3. Communications Director for the Top Table Restaurant Group.
4. Various Human Resources positions including Recruiter, Consultant, Advisor, and Manager at a number of different companies.

If interested, please leave a note beside the tree and I'll decide how quickly to get back to you based on the calibre of milk and cookies you put out.
Or you could just email me and I'll respond post haste.

Only three more days to try and avoid an 11th-hour "naughty" stumble...
Keep 'er nice, all.

Some pre-Christmas crackers

Howdy, all

Thought I'd pass along a few job postings that were thoughfully provided by new Compass alumnus (and hopeful Oprah intern), Sam - thanks for the early Christmas gifts!

If you'd like more info on any of these opportunities, please email me and I'll forward the details.

1. A wide variety of positions (including Communications Specialist, Active Communities Coordinator, Youth Development Leader, and Childminding Instructor, among others) for BC Recreation and Parks Association (http://bcrpa.bc.ca/jobs/parks.htm)

2. Account Executive at Contemporary Communications
(favourite requirement? "Hopefully you have a good sense of humour because we all do")

3. Marketing Manager and Brand Designer for the PNE
(did someone say "free candy floss"?)

Keep a firm hand on your umbrellas and toupees, folks - tonight promises to be a wild one.

And hope you're all well.

Free renovations, anyone?

Howdy, folks

In the spirit of the crazy season, here's an out-of-left-field opportunity that may not pay well, but certainly looks to give you a fresh answer when Aunt Ethel asks what you've been up to at the family Christmas get-together this year.

NEW TV PROJECT LOOKING FOR RENOVATION CHALLENGES / NEIGHBOUR CONFLICTS

Are your neighbour's plans to renovate not quite what you might like? Is your own home reno project raising eyebrows next door? Is there work you both know needs doing, but just can't agree on how to do it? Or are your neighbours just driving you nuts...

We want to help.

Award-winning Force Force Productions Ltd is currently developing a new13-part series for HGTV about neighbours and shared spaces. Each half-hour episode will feature a set of neighbours at issue over home and property issues. With the help of our mediating host and a home design expert, we'll find and implement an innovative renovation solution to the problem. So if you think you've got a situation that could use some outside help, I'd love to hear from you.

Please send your challenge to:
