Gift hoarse

Howdy, folks

Here are a handful of interesting postings that come pre-wrapped well before the official giving season has even begun. Special thanks to Compass elves Sam, Allison, and Mary for their generous early stocking stuffers. As always, feel free to ring for details if anything looks particularly tasty.

1. Marketing Manager for Suite101.com Media Group.
2. Coorporate Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Vancouver.
3. Writer for Safe Software.
4. Public Affairs Research Assistant for BC Hydro.
5. Marketing and Program Assistant for UBC Science Co-op.
6. Junior Proposal Writer/Coordinator for SNC Lavelin Engineering and Construction.
7. And this week's nominee in the "Who Wouldn't Wanna Work With Those Characters?" department: Coast Capital Savings (see ad below)

Wanted: Communications people. Also, donuts.
Coast Capital Savings is Canada’s second largest credit union, and we’re Canada’s number one employer of awesome people. We have absolutely no way of proving that, but we have no way of disproving it either, so we’re sticking with it.
Here’s who we’re looking for:
Internal Communications Advisor
External Communications Advisor
If you’re one of those awesome people, go to www.coastcapitalsavings.com/careers
for more information and to apply. You don’t have to bring donuts, but if you do, we like the ones with sprinkles.

8. And, while we're at it, anyone interested in careers involving HR, Accounting, or Finance might consider checking out Vantage Resourcing for various placement opportunities (contact Sheila Carney at scarney@vantageresourcing.com) .

Getcher sleigh bells shined up and antlers trimmed (reindeer only), all - we're almost into the silly season (although, in truth, some of us are there all year).

One-two-free...

Hi, gang

Hope all's well out there in alumni-land.

This posting is intended to serve dual purposes (if, indeed, that is a word):

1. To test our Feedblitz mailout system (which, surprise, surprise, has been a trifle unreliable of late - when is someone's work purpose going to turn out to be "to develop a reliable free information-delivery system", I ask you?).
2. To give you a heads-up to watch for impending news regarding our latest project, a Compass-exclusive networking website [insert appropriate awestruck sounds] that is nearing launch-readiness. Details (and a lavish bottle-breaking-across-the-bow ceremony, naturally) to follow.

Hope you're enjoying the sunlight, inside and out, all.

Lest we forget

Hey, gang - hope your poppies are staying dry out there in Alumni-land.

Here are a few interesting job postings provided by our trusty alumni pipeline (thanks, Sam and Meg!).
1. Environmental Education Programmer for the City of Surrey.
2. Student Recruiter for Simon Fraser University.
3. Research Assistant for the Canadian Consortium on Human Security.
(email me for more details, if interested)

Also (from the "Could the News Get Any Later?" department), the YWCA One Stop Career Shop (right beside Lonsdale Quay) is hosting a mini Health and Beauty Career Fair today (Thursday, Nov. 8 from 4-6PM) with representatives from several local outfits (Holly's Salons, Spa Utopia, YWCA Health and Wellness Center) scheduled to speak and available to answer any questions you might have. For more info or to register call 604-988-3766.
I'm crossing my fingers that you receive this notice before the event actually occurs.

Hope you enjoy the long weekend and don't forget to Remember, all.
(I realize that sounds funny but there you go...)
