Quests and requests

Hey, gang

Just wanted to mention that we're up to a whopping 152 fine folks on the networking website but could always use a few more (I've still got my sights set on overtaking www.taxidermistswithoutborders.com as the number three social networking site). Greater numbers just means greater chances of connecting those looking for help in sculpting their wild and precious lives with those who might have ideas, connections, or other forms of assistance that could prove beneficial. And, as we all know, it feels great to be able to genuinely help others when we can do so willingly (hey, it meets our core need for contribution, if not also connection, acknowledgment, significance, and a whole host of others!) so if you're already in fulfilling work yourself, perhaps you'll consider scoping out some less-speedy fellow grads who might benefit from a boost. If you haven't checked in lately, I hope you'll find a reason to do so, be it looking at any networking requests some recent Compassers have floated, contributing to any of the existing discussion topics or posting a new one, or even reading a few inspiring post-Compass tales from folks who are putting many of the perspectives discussed in the program to good use. Heck, it might even be time to update your profile to make sure anyone searching for you has the up-to-date details on who you are and where you're headed.

In any event, thanks for all the great site contributions to date and I look forward to hearing ideas and feedback on what you think might help us grow in usefulness and usability from here on in.

Keep your eyes peeled and fingers itchy, all.

Resource Round-up

Howdy, folks

This is just a reminder for anyone who still has resources borrowed from the Compass Centre to please do what you can to encourage those little hobos to eventually find their ways back home when convenient. Of greatest need are the Myers-Briggs and NVC materials but we seem to be missing a few other bits, too. And, if you've read, listened to, or viewed anything particularly interesting or helpful in recent times that we don't currently own, please feel free to forward those referrals and we'll see what we can do about adding them to our stable.

Keep the sunscreen and swimwear handy, all - rumour has it this weekend's angling to be a hot one (finally!) .

Projecting Change

Hey, gang - just want to pass along a little heads-up for the upcoming Projecting Change Film Festival happening this weekend (May 8-11) at The Ridge Theatre in Vancouver which features "23 provocative films and 20 inspiring speakers" including the story of Ray Zahab, the Canadian ultra-marathoner who ran across the Sahara Desert to raise awareness of fresh water initiatives in Africa. You can get more information or reserve tickets at www.projectingchange.com or by calling The Ridge. Thanks to Janice and Lynn and others who helped bring this interesting-sounding event to light.

Hope you're courageously embracing change of your own making out there in Alumniland, all (I think I'll start tomorrow with my socks - eleven days seems like a natural point to start fresh).
