No More Monkeying Around (Oooh, oooh!)

Well, my first volley to solicit interest in a possible September Compass Show 'n Shine didn't produce a ton of response but maybe that's because I didn't make it easy enough for you all to express your views (or maybe you're all just as wholly-entranced by the suddenly-present Mr. Sol as I am). As such, I'm going to give it one more go and, to make it downright simple for both of us, I've enlisted the help of my helpful e-simian friend, Survey Monkey, to allow you to ring in your vote by way of a dead-easy, two-question on-line survey found here (click the link if you can or copy and paste in your browser window):

If you can find the two minutes in your busy schedule and two ounces of love in your heart to follow the link and answer two quick questions, I'd be most appreciative and it would allow us to gage whether there's enough interest to arrange some kind of gathering for the fall.

Keep your SPF high and defenses low, all.

Survey Says?

Howdy, folks - hope you're enjoying our lovely June-uary (thanks, Theo) weather.

We've been noodling around with an interesting idea recently and, besides simply wanting to recognize that for its novelty, we thought we'd float it out to the Compass Universe and get some feedback. Basically, we're thinking about holding a get-together at the good ol' Compass Centre, likely in early September, to showcase the various offerings of the many-and-variously talented characters we get to discover through the program. Initially envisioned as an arts-only display-oriented affair (ie. featuring works from various painters, sculptors, fibre-artists, etc.), we then thought that it could also include other products or services that people might want to publicize. Basically, we're hoping that such an event might shed light on the various cool things our various participants do (work-wise, hobby-wise, or otherwise) and allow you to rub elbows with potential customers, collaborators, or even (hold the phone, Sally!) new friends. With that overall intention in mind, we're hoping for some feedback to help us assess interest and, if sufficient, how best to structure such an event. If you're willing, we'd love to hear your responses to the following questions:

1. Would you have any interest in attending such an event?
2. If so, as a potential exhibitor or viewer?
3. If as an exhibitor, what goods or service would you like to display?
4. If as a viewer, what goods or services would you be interested in seeing?
5. Do you have any bright ideas on what such an event could be called?

Many thanks, in advance, for any input you're willing to provide and I'll be back in touch with updates once we've got an idea of people's interest and commitment levels.

Keep your mufflers tight and galoshes at the ready, all.
