Summertime snippets

Hi, gang - hope you're all enjoying the fabulous weather we've been having.
Here are a couple of information items we thought you might want to hear.

1. In response to some helpful feedback, I've posted some operating instructions on the networking website to help you use it to maximum benefit. Included are answers to frequently asked questions, operating instructions for driving the beast, and hints for getting the best out of the site. Please have a gander when you get a chance and let me know if I've forgotten anything that should be added.

2. Marce and I will be on holidays next week (July 21-25) but will be back in the saddle July 28th. Elaine will be on holidays from August 11-15th and will be back on the 18th. The Centre will still be open and ably staffed during these times by the plucky remaining staff members.

3. We're still all-systems-go for the September 28th first annual Compass Show 'n Shine so keep thinking about what you'd like to shine up and show off for that occasion. Or just save the date so you can come and have a look-see at what others have been up to.

Keep the sunglasses affixed and your beach balls fully inflated, all.

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your needles!

Hey, gang, just wanted to say thank you to all the folks who responded to the survey about a potential Show 'n Shine in September. Turns out, we've got a goodly number of people who'd like to show off their shiny goods and an even goodlier number who want to come check out said goods (and services) so we're officially green-lighting the event. The affair is currently slated to take place on the afternoon of Sunday, September 21st from 1-4PM at the good ol' Compass Centre. In the meantime, I encourage all presenters to start thinking about what kinds of support you would need to make your presentations presentable (ie. walls to hang artwork, tables for displaying promotional material, computer access, etc) as I'll be asking for a listing of this at a later date. And remember, there's still plenty of time for new presenters to jump into the mix and for anyone and everyone to offer suggestions regarding format - the survey is still active so, if you haven't already, feel free to weigh in (but don't bother suggesting a drag show - that chestnut's already been offered).

So there it is - I guess I've got a little over two months to finish my macramé plant-hanger. If, in the course of said goal, I happen to die in a tragic yarn-based hanging, please ensure I receive an appropriate ceremony (ie. in a hammock).

Keep your right-brains sparkly and your left-brains smooth, all.
