If you haven't yet checked in with your two cents, please click here and you'll be directed to our easy, two-question survey where you can let us know whether you're interested in attending and whether you'd like to be involved in some sort of talent show, should that venue be available (nb: at present the show's on life support due to lack of performers).

Many thanks and keep on truckin' out there, y'all.
(thanks, Rach)

Callin' all cowpokes!

Howdy, buckaroos - hope all's okey-dokey out there on the Alumni range.

Seeing as it's been a while since we've seen many of you, we decided it was time to arm-wrassle as many of you back to the Compass ranch as possible using the oldest trick in the book: by jiminy, it's a good ol' fashioned Compass reunion!

It'll be a chance to catch up with old ranch-hands, meet some new bronc-busters, and maybe even lassoo a useful contact or two to help you along your own cattle drive a little. It's slated for Thursday, May 6th from 7-9PM at the Double-C Ranch (aw, that's just fancy talk for the Compass Centre, folks) and we plum sure do hope you'll decide to join us. Why, we've even noodled about the idea of having a talent show portion to the evening where anyone who wants to can show off their favourite talent (singin', tellin' stories, joke-makin', hog-tyin', whatever) in front of a fun and forgiving audience. I'm talkin' about a chance for a saddle-ful of significance, competence, and likability all in one go - try gettin' that from a mechanical bull!

To allow us to plan the details a little, we sure would appreciate you taking a simple, two-question anonymous survey by clicking this link right here.

Really hoping you'll choose to join us - a ranch ain't much good without a healthy stable of cowboys and cowgals in the bunkhouse.

Until then, keep your chaps snug and your yee-haws loose, y'all.

Numbers cruch

Hi, gang - hope you've all been enjoying all the recent festivities and that any hangovers you may be experiencing today are strictly figurative in nature.

And, speaking of slightly-painful follow-ups, we're currently writing a progress report to our funders about our past program year and are finding that our numbers of past participants who are currently working or taking training are lower than usual. That may be a reflection of the recent economic conditions or it may be that we've missed collecting your job or training stat so, if you took the program during our last 12 months (Mar '09 - Feb '10) and have worked (full-time, part-time, contract, it all counts) or taken job-related training during that same time period, can you please send me (bill@northshorecompass.com) a quick note with the following info included in the next couple of days?

i) job title (or program title, if training)
ii) company name (or name of institution, if training)
iii) start date
iv) end date (if finished, work or training)

Many thanks, in advance, for helping us make the case to our stats-happy funders that our participants do more than just speak more giraffe-like after taking the program.

~Your Friendly Neighbourhood Compass Crew
