Upcoming ICS Trainer Training

For those interested in becoming certified to deliver the Implicit Career Search, Steve Miller is offering a special training session in Salmon Arm over two stretches in March (March 3-7 and 17-21). He is providing free accommodation in his own home on a first come, first served basis and suggests that you inquire about whether you qualify for a special reduced rate (of $1750 instead of $4000) for this session.

More details can be found at www.implicitcareer.com or you can contact Steve via his profile on the Compass Alumni website.

New year, new ideas (same old mouthpiece)

Happy New Year, all!
(when can we stop saying that, by the way?

Hope you're in good spirits and are finding 2011 a smoother paddle than topsy-turvy old 2010.

Just wanted to mention that there have been a number of interesting posts on the Compass Alumni website of late that you might consider checking out when you get a chance. Recent additions have included:

i) A post on various methods on how to deal with the "Salary Question" in interviews (thanks, Zina!).
ii) A solicitation for participants in a Master's dissertation on mid-life career change.
iii) Some upcoming overseas development opportunities being offered by CUSO-VSO (thanks, Mary!).
iv) A short-but-good video by Robin Sharma on how to make 2011 your best year yet (thanks, Suzy!).

Feel free to check these out, browse around some more, and maybe even add something of your own to keep the site fresh and interesting.

Keep the snow shovels and umbrellas at close hand, all.
