Quick - don't vizualize a herd of giraffes...

Howdy, gang - hope you're all enjoying our timid start to summer.

Two quick info items for your consideration:
1. After much requesting, Elaine (with the fine support of treasured Compassito, Daryl) has recorded several of our most popular program visualizations for those who enjoy this insight-mining technique and who'd like another crack at embracing their Male/Female Energies, seeing what an Ideal Day (including a job that makes your socks roll up and down) might look like, and perhaps even taking a short mental holiday by Floating Down the River (seeing as it's summer and all). They're all to be found on the main page of our networking website (lower left side in the 'Music' application) - feel free to check 'em out and let Elaine know what you discover.

2. Uber-generous Compass alum Kathy McGrenera has graciously offered her house (just up the street from Compass) as a meeting place for a proposed NVC Practice Group that is slated to launch in September. Several parties have already expressed interest in participating in such a venture but there are a few spots still available. Anybody interested in joining such a group can contact Kathy via the networking website to help plan out the details of such an arrangement (nb: an preliminary meeting is tentatively scheduled for this Sunday, June 27th to discuss potential set-up options). Many thanks, Kathy, for your leadership in creating a group which will support giraffe wannabes to continue their NVC learning, practice, and exploration.

Otherwise, keep your days ideal and your groups well-practiced, all.
Or was it your days well-practiced and your groups ideal?

Ah, either way...

Time to Bring Out the Clubs!

Howdy, gang - hope all's swell out there in Alumniland.

Amber, one of our fabulous Compass superspies, forwarded this interesting volunteer opportunity and I wondered if any of you might have an interest in getting involved. Looks like a 'purposeful' kind of endeavour and one with which you might get a fair amount of say in what you create so feel free to have a gander and contact Kim (see below), if interested.

Thanks, Amber, and I hope you'll all keep forwarding anything you think other might be interested in seeing.

Hi Everyone!

I'm looking for creative, enthusiastic instructors to offer one or two out of school clubs a week starting October 4 and running until December 10, 2010. I know it's way in the future but I'm trying to make a plan before everyone departs for the summer!

If you are passionate about something (or know someone who is) and think it would be fun to "teach" it to elementary students please let me know what it is and how you'd go about it! We are always looking for new and exciting clubs to add to the options. Feel free to pass this email along.

We are also aiming to be the first ever environmental after school program - after all, Grandview will be one of the first Earth Schools in the lower mainland, if not Canada.

Structure of the program:
Three terms in the year. 8-10 weeks/ sessions per term.
Clubs run once a week Oct 4 - Dec 10 3:00-5:30 on either a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday or Friday
We take a winter break and start the whole process again in January. Then again in March.
No more than 10 kids per group, 15 if there are 2 leaders
Grades 4-7 (ages 8-13) Clubs are age specific

Please let me know if you think you might be interested and please please please feel free to pass the word along to anyone who is looking to work a few hours a week or volunteer at what will be Grandview Earth Elementary School.

Thanks for spreading the word!

~Kim

Steve Facilitates!

Howdy, all - hope all's swell out there in Alumniland.

Quick reminder that Steve Miller is offering an intensive Implicit Career Search workshop series from the evening of Thursday, June 10th to Sunday, June 13th. It'll be held at the Compass Centre and will take participants through the entire ICS experience in three-and-a-half days (ka-zoiks!). If you know anyone you think might benefit from this approach and is unable to take the whole Compass program, please feel free to pass along this invitation. And, if you think you could use a refresher of the material and another look at defining your mission statement and work purpose, perhaps this opportunity could be for yourself.

Fee for first-timers is $675 but Compass Alumni get in for only $95. To register, please contact Steve via phone (1-250-833-9280) or email (admin@implicitcareer.com).
More details are available on Steve's website.
