Up, up, and away...

Happy Summertime, all!

Just wanted to mention that I'm headed out of town for a whopping six weeks beginning next Monday, July 11th so won't be around and taking care of my usual Compass responsibilities (ie. reaching things in high places and trying to get my Compass yo-yo to walk the dog). I'm headed back to Kenya for a follow-up stint with Education Beyond Borders (the volunteer junket I went on last year) where I'm hoping my work purpose of "promoting hope through http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifunderstanding" will be well-exercised as our team works to support some Kenyan teacher colleagues in setting up and running a week-long conference on student-centered teaching strategies for their peers.

I'll try to write a few blog posts on the Alumni website for those interested in hearing trip updates but spotty internet access and a jam-packed schedule may restrict that somewhat. Either way, I'll be back at work (jet-lag, culture-shock, and hippo-related accidents notwithstanding) on August 22nd and will be eager to reconnect and hear about what's been happening in your own wild and precious lives lo' these many weeks.

Many thanks to my fabulous Compass colleagues who have gamely agreed to spell me for such a long stretch and who will be available throughout the summer to support you as needed.

I wish you all fabulous summers full of aliveness, adventure, and relaxation.
Until our next hello, then.

~Bwana Bill
